“ Excellent drinks, appetizers, food and service! We enjoy eating in the bar area as the bartenders are friendly and efficient!!!! ”
“ I am a first timer here and it won't be my last. I was happy with staff, atmosphere and food quality. Even something as simple as sesame wings I was blown away with. Amazing atmosphere and a short walk to "teasers" with a high functioning bar and music right off Marina. ”
“ Excellent drinks!! We stopped for a happy hour beverage. Loved the service at the bar. There was a long wait at the door for food service so we just opted to grab some drinks and enjoy the sunset. ”
“ Customer service - 5 out of 5 Wait time - 5 out of 5 Atmosphere - 5 out of 5 Cleanliness - 5 out of 5 Food quality - 5 out of 5 From the moment we stepped into Sunset Grille, anticipation hung in the air like a tantalizing aroma. The warm welcome from the staff set the tone for an unforgettable evening. Our reservation was originally for 5:45, but they graciously seated us early. As we ascended to the second-floor outdoor dining area, the view stole our breath away. Boats bobbed gently in the harbor, palm trees swayed, and multimillion-dollar mansions lined the shore. Soft music played, weaving an ambiance that felt both lively and serene. My wife ordered the New York strip steak. While it leaned slightly toward medium rather than her requested medium-rare, the flavors were robust. The accompanying mashed potatoes and asparagus were nothing short of divine. I, on the other hand, opted for the Sunset Cobb salad. Arriving in a generous portion, it presented a colorful pattern of ingredients. Each forkful was a revelation--a salad that transcended mere greens. The "El's Jumbo California Shrimp Salad Wrap" beckoned irresistibly. Plump, juicy shrimp nestled amidst fresh greens, wrapped in a light, refreshing tortilla. The combination of sweet shrimp, tangy dressing, and crisp veggies made it a standout choice--a dish that left me nourished and invigorated. Before departing, I must commend the staff once again. Their attentiveness struck the perfect balance--never intrusive, yet always present. Sunset Grille isn't just a restaurant; it's a vessel for memories waiting to be crafted. Whether celebrating a special occasion or savoring life's little pleasures, this place delivers. So, raise your glass to good food, great views, and exceptional service. Sunset Grille, you've captured our hearts--and our taste buds! With a well-deserved perfect score of 25 out of 25, I wholeheartedly give this establishment an A++. Not only do I highly recommend it, but we also plan to return during our vacation next year! ”
“ I've come here to visit the bar before but today was my first experience dining in! Appetizers were wonderful and the service was also great. Definitely an awesome set of entrees and other menu items. We sat on the top deck and had an incredible view of the marina. Excited to come here again during white marlin week coming up! ”
“ It's been several years since I have updated my review of here so what better time on my 10th trip to do such a thing. Anyway - party of 8 for this trip, we had Gregory L. as our waiter. He seemed like a pretty straight shooter and quite attentive to the details: from breaking down the menu, tips, tricks and recommendations- as well as explaining his moves with placing orders and drinks. Started with an aged barrel bourbon Manhattan, and the table got several appetizers: burrata with focaccia, cream of crab soup. The burrata was kind of a mess: I've seen this become a trend at restaurants where burrata is just a pile of weirdly sliced tomatoes and a burrata in the middle. I would much rather have a smaller sample of tomatoes that way there's no waste but this was good. Would have also liked more balsamic on top of everything. The cream of crab soup was REALLY good. A little more liquid than a thicker style - but the flavors were insanely well-layered. Very good. For my entree I got the peppercorn wagyu steak with horseradish sauce and chimichuri. I added a crab cake as well and fresh vegetable medley. Everything was very fresh - BUT! THE STEAK WAS BADLY RARE WHEN I ORDERED MEDIUM! On a steak that is served sliced, there is no excuse for an undercooked steak. Don't send it back bc I'm a team player. For a dessert we ordered several options to share around the table: pie in a jar, cheesecake, and the turtle sundae. The pie in a jar is a MUST-TRY: peanut butter mousse, layered with Oreo pieces, and whipped cream on top. WOW. Seems simplistic but the flavors were great. The cheesecake was a toffee with Heath pieces. I believe the cheesecake was no-bake. But it was very good. I liked the toffee underneath the cake, and the heath pieces were very good. The turtle ice cream sundae was HUGE: like 3 brownies and 4 scoops of ice cream - covered in chocolate and caramel sauces with whipped cream. Overall this was a very good meal - but the steak being undercooked really kept it from a perfect experience. Overall very good. Again. ”
“ Beautiful views and a great atmosphere! We usually stop at Sunset Grill for Happy Hour once or twice on our annual vacation. We love sitting outside at the marina overlooking all of the yachts. We didn't go for Happy Hour this year but we did stop in for a round of Orange Crushes and some appetizers. We loved the Orange Crushes and I would recommend every appetizer I ordered! We shared Wings, Vine Ripened Tomato, Crab Dip, and Mahi Fingers. From past experiences we already knew we loved the Mahi Fingers which are lightly breaded and fried, and served with the perfect dipping sauces (sweet chili sauce & spicy remoulade). I'm picky with wings but these were very good; perfectly fried, nice size, crispy, not drowned in sauce, tender, and not chewy. The Vine Ripened Tomato was sort of like a Caprese salad. The tomato was large and ripe. The salad was served with fresh mozzarella, basil, olive oil, and balsamic. The crab dip, to our surprise, had lots of crab and was served with bread that was toasted nicely on the outside but was soft and provided a great bite on the inside. I'd also like to give our server, Charlie, some props. She was very patient with us and was very helpful with the menu when it came to questions. She did a great job with our large party. The only odd thing was that they did not serve draft beers at the tables we were sitting at which wasn't the end of the world. We did have a very enjoyable experience. Drinks were great, food couldn't have been better, and even though it is a little pricey, the atmosphere and location are 2nd to none. ”
“ Second time visiting Sunset grille in 2 years. One of the best spots in OCMD for a fancy dinner or to celebrate any occasion. We stopped here on Monday night to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Made reservations a week in advance to be able to get a table since it's so popular. When we arrived we checked in at the hostess stand outside and were told to go inside to be seated. We then went inside the restaurant to check In again and finally get seated. They asked us if we were still going to sit outside but I told them the girls sent us inside to be seated. Finally we were taken to our table in the far back of the restaurant to a single table against the wall directly across from a large table of 16. Very loud and inconsiderate of others dining that evening. The waitress stopped at our table after we looked over the menu and I asked politely to move our table. We were moved into a different area with no issues but were seated at a table which wasn't cleaned and reset for service. I had to take utensils and small appetizer plates off of a table close to us. There were other tables cleaned and ready but we were not able to sit at those. Service was 50/50 at best that night , it was crowded but it was a bit slower from the first time we were there and sat at the "set yourself" area without having reservations. Other tables were given options of specials that night , we never were told about them. Not a very friendly waitress, never checked to see if we needed anything. I was completely done by the time she asked if we needed more drinks. Food was still excellent as expected for what we choose to eat and drink that evening. ”
“ Crispy was a great waiter! Make reservations! We were seated inside on the bottom floor, but could see the water Pretty views of the water & boats and all of the fabulous looking homes along the water Menu is not extensive but just right. Various cocktail and drinks! I wasn't too hungry so I ordered: Lollipop Lamb Chops: delish and the sauce had just the right tang to it) and Blackened Garlic Shrimp: The bread with this was simply delish. Came with about 4 or 5 Large shrimps Drinks: Spicy Mango - Yum!!! Painkiller- refreshing Make sure to go upstairs to the bar! Huge space for outdoor dining, views of downtown Ocean City Very friendly employees! ”
